Chairside tooth whitening often involves the use of a bleaching agent based on hydrogen peroxide, urea peroxide or carbamide peroxide. Their action is simple: to discolour the tooth. With the help of a colour chart, you and your doctor will see the desired effect and from that point on, your doctor will measure their concentration.
The technologies used for tinting in our office in Champel :
- The laser : your doctor will place a retractor in your mouth to keep it open. He or she will then protect your lips and mucous membranes with a special product before coating your teeth with the whitening element. At the end, he will project a laser beam into your mouth to promote the infiltration of the substance into the superficial dental tissue.
- The lamp : instead of a laser, the practitioner will use a bleaching lamp that will activate the gel applied to your teeth. Its light allows the active product to penetrate the enamel to lighten it.
